In the event of a major catastrophe, our entire staff at JHA has been trained in our claims procedures to accurately and promptly handle your claim. The following will assist you in filing your claim.

Agent Reporting Procedures

Please fully complete an Acord Loss Notice and fax it to our office. To help expedite the claims assignment process please be sure to report the following:

• Date of loss
• Policy number
• Coverage type
• Loss location address
• Contact Name
• All available contact numbers (Business, Home, Cell)
• Mailing address
• Description of loss

Insured Reporting Procedures

To report a claim, first attempt to contact your retail agent. In the event of a catastrophe and you cannot contact your retail agent you can report the claim directly to JHA at 1-800-282-7729. Please have your policy number and your contact information before you call to report the claim. PLEASE NOTE: JHA personnel cannot answer any coverage question. Coverage questions should be referred to your retail agent or your claim adjuster. In the event of a windstorm, if your policy EXCLUDES WINDSTORM COVERAGE, contact your windstorm insurance carrier to report the claim.

Assignment to an Adjuster

Once your claim has been reported to JHA, a claim adjuster will be assigned and JHA will advise the retail agent of the assignment. In most cases the adjuster will attempt to contact you within 48 hours. In catastrophe situations first contact may take longer. PLEASE BE PATIENT. An adjuster will contact you as soon as possible.

We have taken great measures, including installation of a generator to run the building, to insure our business remains operational during a hurricane, although in the event that JHA has to shut down our building due to a major catastrophe, we will activate our alternate phone and fax numbers.
