On January 25, 2007, the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) approved the FSLSO to utilize the excess funds collected from surplus lines insureds in 2006 to satisfy the assessment obligation for Citizens' assessment to be collected in 2007.

Therefore, there will be no Citizens' assessments collected on surplus lines insureds' policies (new and renewals) in 2007. However, please note that endorsements on 2006 policies will still incur the 2006 Citizens assessment of 6.84%.
